Plain initials in red and blue. Two very simple pen-flourished initials ("I" on c. Ar and "I" on c. Bv). Text in black ink. Catchword on c. Bv.
Inscriptions and marks:
Number "23" written in red ink on carta Ar. On the same page on the left side a modern hand wrote in blue ink "Caixa 243, nº 15". At the bottom of the page there is a big annotation "Santa marimba de lousado", which give us information about the provenance of the fragment. On carta Ar has been partially removed a library sticker, it is still readable "Anno de 1546".
Some pieces are written with regular Aquitanian neums, while others show the special sign for the semitone.
P. Avelino de Jesus da Costa referes to this fragment as: "Caixa 243, 41 – Número 15 – Tombo de Santa Maria do Lousado, 1546".
