Simple decoration: only plain initials in red. Display script in red. Text and notation in black. Aquitanian neumes around dry-point line.
Inscriptions can be found on fols. 106r and 109v. Fol. 106r: "Caixa 279, n° 5" in blue ink, by a modern hand; "[...]130", at the top of the page; "108" in red ink; "Pardes [...]" along the right margin. Fol. 109v: "M" written reversed at the bottom right corner; "Pardez" along the left margin. Santa Paredes de Coura is located ca 60 km north of Braga.
Bifolio in good condition but the borders were trimmed and some contents originally in the lower part of the fragment are now lost. The original sewing thread can be seen along the central fold. The two folios are not consecutive.
Bifolium of 295 x 210 mm, text area: one column of ca 180 x 160 mm.
The original foliation can be found at the top of the recto of both folios: "cvj" and "cjx".
P. Avelino de Jesus da Costa referes to this fragment as: "Caixa 279 132 – Número 5 – Tombo de Santa Maria de Paredes, 1540".
