Damaged: the bifolium was heavily trimmed along the upper edge and also along the external border of fol. A. The trimming has caused loss of contents. Fols. Av-Br correspond to the flesh side of the bifolium while fols. Bv-Ar correspond to the hair side; the latter is in poorer condition and much less readable. The fragment is wrinkled and there are traces of humidity and dirtiness. Sewing holes visible along the central fold.
Bifolium: Ar side (Benedicite gentes): 209-215 x 293-300; Br side 224-228 x 293-300. Two columns for each page, columns measure approximately 80-85 x 265. Each column has 27 lines of text.
Type of notation:
Initials in blue and red.
Inscriptions and marks:
Three later inscriptions can be read at the top-left corner of of the left corner of fol. Ar. One hand wrote using a modern ballpoint pen "Caixa 243 n. 5". Immediately below it is written "1" in red ink. Further below, there is an unreadable and probably older later hand inscription.
On the same page, between the two columns, one can read "Tombo de Santa Maria de Gallegos". This inscriptions provides information on the provenance of the fragment.
P. Avelino de Jesus da Costa referes to this fragment as: "Caixa 243, 37 – Número 5 – Tombo de Santa Maria de Galegos".
