Non-central bifolio containing part of the office for 'Briccii'. The same chants found in this fragment can be read in the same liturgical order in E-Tc 44.2 fol. 158v et seq. E-Tc 44.2 is an Antiphoner from Toledo Cathedral, probably c. 1095; this manuscript is a compilation, with the copyist working from more than one model, for more info see http://cantus.uwaterloo.ca/index?source=123639). Some of the chants found in this fragment have been recorded up to this date only in the three following Aquitanian manuscripts: E-Tc 44.1 and 44.2, P-BRs Ms. 28 (see the Musical Index for further details).
Page layout:
Two columns.
Condition of document:
Bifolium in miserable condition.
Library sticker on fol. Bv. Later-hand inscriptions on Bv.
Description of the notation:
Large size neumes. The axis of the notation is vertical. Custodes absent. The lozenge is used consistently and the difference between a lozenge and a more or less square punctum is generally clearly defined. The lozenge is used both in isolation and as part of compound neumes (ascending or descending patterns).
