Material
Condition of document

Non-central bifolium in poor condition. Approximately half of the contents of folio 1 is lost because the page has been trimmed at the bottom. Fol. 2 has irregular edges, especially at the bottom.

Page layout

Full page. Fol.1: c. 175 (c. 260?) x c. 235 mm. Fol.2: c. 245 x c. 240 mm.

Foliation/Pagination

Modern foliation '1' and '2' added at the top external corner of each page.
The analysis of the contents shows that folio '2' should actually come first, since it contains the liturgical feast of Cathedra Petri (CI Feast Code 14022200), which occurs in February, before Dom. Septuagesimae (CI Feast Code 06011000), currently found on fol. 1.

Remarks
From the same book as P-Cua IV-3ª Gav. 44 (20), which was used as a cover for administrative registers at the College of Jesus. The musical and liturgical contents of this fragment show a close proximity with the same feasts as found in Toledo, Catedral - Archivo y Biblioteca Capítulares, 44.2. The same can be seen in the related fragment Gav. 44 (20). NOTES ON THE CHANT INDEX: The Responsory 'Simile est regnum' (CI 602213) is only found in Iberian sources and in the Antiphoner from Marseille cathedral F-Pnm lat. 1090, dated between 1190 and 1200. See http://cantusindex.org/id/602213. The Responsory 'Domine si tu es' (CI 006515) is paired with the Verse 'Cumque vidisset' (CI 006515zb), which contains a textual variant so far only found among Iberian manuscripts. See http://cantusindex.org/id/006515. The Responsory 'Ego pro te' (CI 006630) is paired with the Verse 'Simon ecce Satanas' (CI 006630zd), normally found in Iberian manuscripts. See http://cantusindex.org/id/006630zd.
