P-BRad Pasta 053
Aquitanian notation. Custos occurs only twice, both in the French form. The combination of notation and scribal practice points to an early date.
Initials of each chant in red, except one in black, apparently by error.
Late inscription at Av: “Santa Maria de (…).”
Well preserved. Lower margin trimmed, with loss of text. Further trimming in upper and outer margins, not affecting the written area. Av somewhat soiled; Br with marginal annotations, suggesting that Bv–Ar were once pasted to a binding.
One full-page column. 31 lines of notation alternating with text, but there must have been more, judging by the trimming of the lower margin.
The original foliation is missing, probably due to the trimming of the top border of the folio.
Mode identification takes into account the position of the tonic relative to the dry-point line, psalmodic intonations, melodic range and formulas.
