P-BRad Pasta 109
Aquitanian notation on a red line. Clear vertical alignment between text and music. Oriscus seldom used; the salicus formed with two puncta and a virga. Custos of Iberian type, regularly employed.
Initials of chants in black or blue; those of prayers and readings in red. Initials of entrance chants in blue and red, slightly ornamented.
On Av and on inner margin of Br, modern hand: “San Tiago da Cruz", a Parish near Braga.
All margins trimmed, especially upper and outer, with loss of liturgical content. Some stains not affecting legibility. No holes or folds.
Two columns, thirty-four alternating lines of text and notation; further lines probably lost through trimming of upper and lower edges.
Original foliation lost, probably owing to trimming of the upper edge.
Mode identification takes into account the position of the tonic relative to the dry-point line, psalmodic intonations, melodic range and formulas.
