The fragment, apparently originating in Italy or Provence, preserves a continuous sequence of entries from an alphabetically organised Summa de casibus conscientiae or related casuistic manual. The surviving text spans the transition from the end of the letter E to the beginning of F, and comprises material concerning ecclesiastical jurisdiction, excommunication, faith, and filiation. The text appears to belong to the wider tradition of Bartholomew of San Concordio's Summa Pisana.

Folio Av – Headings: Examinatio and Excomunicacio
Examinatio: Discusses ecclesiastical jurisdiction in relation to the election of the king of the Germans. Citing Pope Innocent III’s decretal Venerabilem (Liber Extra, X 1.6.34), the passage describes the person elected by the prince-electors (‘ellectus in regem allemanie’) as being examined and confirmed by the papacy before imperial coronation (‘examinatur ... et confirmatio ... coronatur’).
Excomunicacio: Introduces a systematic discussion of the consequences of excommunication, arranged in numbered points and supported by a dense sequence of citations from the Corpus iuris canonici, of which:
1º, Deprivation of the sacraments (‘privatur percipiendo sacramenta’), with reference to the decretal Quod in dubiis.
2º, Loss of the fruits of the peace of the holy mother Church (‘perit pacis sancte matris ecclesie fructus’).
3º, A statement that all works performed by the excommunicated person are ‘mortified’ ('3º quod omnia opera fecta in eo mortificantur’), followed by discussion of suffrages in life ('suffragia in vita sua’) and a further statement containing the expression ‘mortem tollit’. The passage is supported by a sequence of canon-law citations, including references to Gratian’s Decretum, and cites, among other authorities, Causa 24, Quod voto, and the papal decretal A nobis.
Folio Br – Headings: [Fides] and Filiacio
[Fides]: Contains a discussion of Christian faith and its relation to works, including an extensive biblical argument based on James 2:18: ‘Jacobus 2º capitulo ego ostendam tibi ex operibus fidem meam ... fides sine operibus mortua est’. The passage argues that faith is to be manifested through works and refers to the defence of the faith (‘defensio fidei’).
Filiacio: Begins a new alphabetical entry on filiation, introducing its canonical and theological implications.
Folio Bv – Continues the discussion of filiatio, preserving further material concerning the canonical and legal implications of filiation and lineage.
The surviving material is characteristic of a casuistic manual intended for ecclesiastical use, combining canonistic and theological exposition with practical treatment of questions concerning ecclesiastical discipline, faith, and Christian conduct.

Prominent pen-flourished initials E marking the openings of Examinatio and Excomunicacio est, and F marking the opening of Filiacio, executed in alternating red and green. The initials and pen-flourishing are characteristic of late-medieval Southern European manuscript decoration, with possible affinities to the Bolognese tradition. Textual divisions are marked by red paragraph signs. A systematic rubrication scheme employs red underlining to draw attention to keywords, lemma headings, scriptural references, and citations to canon law.
Several inscriptions in light brown ink, mostly unreadable. Library sticker with blue stamp reads "100 A 1-2-30".
