Description of the notation

Square notation, Iberian variety, on 5 red lines. One clef, custodes (left-headed with upward stem)

Decoration

One blue initial with simple red filigree is detected. Other simple initials in red. Rubrics in red.

Inscriptions

One inscription in red pencil on the bottom-right part of the verso side of the folio reads "178". There is also, on the same part of the folio, a library sticker, which reads: "Valença. / Tombo da Egreja de São / Miguel de Perre / Anno de 1743 / Caix. 279 nº 8".

São Miguel de Perre is located in the district of Viana do Castelo.

Material
Condition of document

Fair. The folio has been used as a book cover. The verso side was the external part of the cover and is quite dirty, thus only partially readable.
There is another piece of parchment glued on the top part of the folio reaching both sides, belonging to another music manuscript, with late Aquitanian notation. Unfortunately this glued parchment, which seems to include an Offertory and a Communion, is almost completely unreadable.

Page layout

Single column, 8 lines of text alternated with 8 lines of music.

Foliation/Pagination

No foliation/pagination.
