P-BRad Pasta 118
Aquitanian notation on a red line. Clear vertical alignment between text and music. Quilisma used. No custodes.
Capital letters in red and black, with slight ornamentation.
In centre of Av, modern hand: “San Pº de Calvello e (…).” São Pedro de Calvelo is a parish near Braga; a monastery of the same name is attested in 12th-century documents.
Upper margin trimmed, not affecting the text. Several stains, some impairing legibility (Av, gradual In Deo speravit). Two horizontal folds at upper and lower edges. Later inscriptions on Av.
Two columns, thirty-four alternating lines of text and notation.
In the centre of the top margin of Av:: "xliiii" (44); in Bv: "xlv" (45).
Mode identification takes into account the position of the tonic relative to the dry-point line, psalmodic intonations, melodic range and formulas.
