Type of notation

Material
Condition of document

There are several lacunae (e.g. between 3v and 4r, 8v and 9r, 16v and 17r, 27v and 28r...), corresponding to the folios that concerned Matins and the first antiphons of Lauds (of which only fragments remain); the result fits a diurnal liturgy. Folio 45 was originally positioned just before fol. 28 and was discarded at some point, only to be recovered, after erasure of the recto contents, for insertion of the Magnificat antiphon Solvite templum: the recto accordingly became a palimpsest, while the verso remained mostly untouched. The upper part of fols. 50 and following, probably damaged by accident, were cut away and replaced by equivalent strips of parchment, written to match the lost contents. Folio 57, like fol. 45, was also discarded and then inserted to serve as a partial palimpsest; since it contains responsory material corresponding to the 8th and 9th lessons for the first Sunday in Lent, it originally belonged between fols. 16v and 17r.

Page layout

510 x 333 mm. Long lines. Fol. 3r: 20 mm < 340 mm > 150 mm x 32 mm < 263 mm > 38 mm.

Foliation/Pagination

Modern foliation in Arabic numbers and in brown ink on the upper outer margin.

Gathering

6 gatherings, originally senions.

Bindings

Leather binding on wooden boards; four bosses on the upper board and five on the lower board. Traces of two clasps. Parchment pastedowns and flyleaves.
