P-BRad Pastas, 030
The liturgical content of this fragment matches the chants for the feast Dom. 3 Quadragesimae found in manuscript P-BRs Ms. 32 considered as a representative source for the cathedral liturgy of Braga.
Red line for notation, medium-sized neumes with clear indication of the lower note of the semitone. The lozenged punctum is used both in isolation and as part of compound neumes. The scribe put special care in placing the neumes in the notational space.
Red and blue initials with filigree for the beginning of the chants, simpler initials for the verses in brown ink. Rubrics in red.
Recto: library sticker "26" at the top right corner. Modern hand inscription in red "30". Verso: four later hand inscriptions; the two older inscriptions can be found at the top left. They read "Santa Maria de Pinhejro" and "S.ta M.a de Pinheyro". The modern inscriptions are probably written with pencil by the same hand and read "26" and "Caixa 245, nº4 (1548)".
Very good. It is a single folio fragment. No content loss. It was used as a cover, the borders of the fragment were folded to fit the size of the book being covered. The verso was the external cover of the book, it shows some spots and dirtiness due to book handling. Prick holes on the left vertical edge of the verso.
Fully notated fragment with ten lines of text alternated with musical notation.
Single-page fragment without foliation.
