This seems to correspond to the Proper of the Mass for Antonius Abbas as followed in Auxerre: Introit Scitote quoniam mirificavit, V/. Et factus est in pace locus; followed by responsory gradual Thronus eius sicut sol... according to the 1532 Missal, accessed at https://usuarium.elte.hu/book/1034/view. These chants were the basis for Dufay's polyphonic Mass dedicated to St. Anthony Abbot.

Description of the notation

Square notation on 4 red lines. One clef. Custodes.

Decoration

One initial in red with filigree. Red rubrics. The fragment is too small to show any other decoration.

Inscriptions

On the verso side: a modern "263" in red pencil; in pencil, another modern inscription reads "Palme"; in brown ink another inscription reads "Livro do Tombo". A white library sticker reads: "ADB / CONV E MOST. / PALME / 88". The Benedictine monastery of Palme is located near Barcelos.

Condition of document

Good condition but with great loss of content due to the cuts. The original size of the page is almost impossible to guess. The folio has been cut and folded in order to be used as a book cover. The verso side was the external part and show dirtiness and spots. The recto side shows some spots (glue) and holes.
