P-BRad Pasta 273
Some chants for Quadragesima.
Standard square notation on 4 red lines. One clef. Custodes. Every word is divided in the staff by a brown line. The incipit is separated from the rest of the chant with a red line in the staff.
Red and blue alternated initials for the chants. Rubrics in red and brown ink.
On the recto side there is a modern inscription in red pencil that reads "273". There are other inscriptions in brown ink, some of them unreadable. The clearest has: "Travaços / Bap. de 1587 té 1640 / Caz e def". The fragment thus enclosed records of baptism, marriage and death of parishioners in São Martinho de Travassos (Póvoa de Lanhoso), although Travassós (Guimarães) and Travassós (Vila Verde) may be candidates.
Bad. There is a tear in the middle of the folio, that has also ben folded and cut due to its usage as a book cover. There are lots of spots. The recto side is quite dirty and shows the remains of a sticker that was probably glued and then removed.
Single column with alternated music and text lines. It is impossible to say the total number of lines due to the cut in the lower part of the folio.
No foliation/pagination.
