Responsories De Job, in other Portuguese sources found with the rubric "Dom. mensis Septembris".

Type of script
Description of the notation

Aquitanian notation with one red line. No clefs. Although difficult to read, some passages show the use of the rhombus to indicate an upper semitone. Possible presence of custodes: the folio is cut on the side where the line ends: at the 6th line there is a sign that could be a custos, in which case that would be a right-headed custos.

Decoration

Red initials alternated (possibly) with blue initials for the chants. Verses' initials are in brown ink. Rubrics in red.

Inscriptions

The folio seems to be glued to a sheet of paper, thus only one side is visible. There is a library sticker - a piece of paper glued on the parchment - with modern inscriptions in pencil and pen: "Abação / (S. Cristovão) / Misto. / Cas. 22/11/-1592 — 10/9/-1672 / Nasc. 29/11/-1592 — 14/4/-1672 / Obt. 16/4/-1594 — 15/10/-1671 / Nº 1". The parchment covered, then, the first book of parish records (marriages, births, and deaths) for São Cristóvão de Abação, from 1592 to 1672.

Material
Condition of document

Damaged. The folio has been glued on a sheet of paper, thus only one side is visible and only partially, being the folio quite dirty and with a piece of paper glued in the middle.

Page layout

Single column, at least 11 lines of music alternated with 11 lines of text.

Foliation/Pagination

No foliation/pagination.
