Inscriptions
There are four inscriptions on the fragment, all on fols. Bv-Ar. The oldest inscription can be found along the central fold, to the right, and it is now almost unreadable. Another old inscription can be found written vertically between the two columns of fol. Ar. The inscription reads "Tombo de Santa Maria de Gallegos" (Galegos, Barcelos, located West of Braga) and it is crucial for identifying the provenance of the fragment. Finally, there are two modern inscriptions written at the top-left corner of fol. Ar. "Caixa 243 n. 5" is written in blue ink with a modern ballpoint pen. "1" is written in red ink immediately below the other inscription.
Material
Condition of document

The bifolium is in decent condition despite the loss of content due to trimming along the upper border and, especially, along the external edge of fol. A. Fols. Av-Br correspond to the flesh side of the parchment while fols. Bv-Ar correspond to the hair side; the latter is in poorer condition and less readable. The fragment is wrinkled and there are traces of humidity and dirtiness. Sewing holes are visible along the central fold.

Page layout

Bifolium: Ar side (Benedicite gentes): 209-215 x 293-300 mm; Br side 224-228 x 293-300 mm. Two columns for each page, columns measure approximately 80-85 x 265 mm. Each column has 27 lines of text.

Remarks
P. Avelino de Jesus da Costa referes to this fragment as: "Caixa 243, 37 – Número 5 – Tombo de Santa Maria de Galegos".
