Neo-Gregorian (i.e., mostly newer texts on older melodies), south-Italian (Beneventan?) mass for the Octave of Epiphany.
Late-style Beneventan notation with F- and C-clefs and red four-line staves.
Red and blue initials with occasional red filler.
Recto: top left corner, in pencil: "12 - A" (former Cimelios 6, fol. 12); top right corner, library stamp. Below, in pencil, modern inscription, with information about contents, writing style and datation: " Missa do dia 13 de Janeiro / Oitava da Epifania / Escritura beneventana / século XIII". Bottom right corner, in ink: "an. 1567" (probably referring to documents once enclosed by the fragment). Verso: top left corner, in pencil: "-B-".
Very good overall. Only about one line of text and music on recto rendered illegible by book-binding exposure.
Dimensions: 375 x 245 mm. Two columns, each measuring 290 x 90 mm.
The type of script is characteristically Beneventan.
