P-EVp Pasta 3, doc. 006
Initials of readings in red and blue flourished, with inner filigree. Initial of the only chant visible in the same sepia ink of the text.
Badly damaged. Consists of a central bifolio, cut so that in one of the leaves only one column survives. Non-exposed side fairly readable except for two major holes and some discoloration; exposed side virtually illegible due to lacunae and severe ink fade.
Two columns of text and music per page
The lesson copied in Av, taken from the Book of Ezekiel, is continued in Br; this implies that the bifolio occupied the centre of a quire and the order of the folios was thus established. The antiphon Quis dabit, whose text is here barely legible, is found together with the preceding antiphons in the printed Évora Breviary of 1528 but very few concordances (E-Tc 44.2, P-BRs Ms. 032) are known otherwise. It is possible that the fragment is an early witness to the liturgical use of Évora.
