Antiphons, preces and introit chants for the Rogation Days of May (before Ascension Thursday), and Song of the Sibyl, fully notated, according to the Braga liturgical tradition. This repertoire, transmitted to Braga through Aquitanian channels, was shared by the Hispanic and Gallican rites before the adoption of Roman-Frankish chant.

Type of script
Type of notation
Description of the notation

Late square notation, 5 red lines. Notes are drawn as thick tractuli framed by two small vertical lines (one for each side). On fol. 10v, for the Kyrie, mensural black notation is used.

Decoration

Black/brown initials, mainly simple, sometimes simply decorated. Rubrics in brown ink.

Inscriptions

On the rear paste-down some inscriptions in brown ink are partially readable.

Material
Condition of document

Very good. The book has a velvet cover; it is very well preserved and there are no missing pages.

Page layout

Single column. 5 staves alternating with 5 lines of text.

Foliation/Pagination

13 folios + guard leaves. No visible numeration.

Remarks

This is a copy of RM 13 (as suggested by the coincidence in the rubric "Hos conegos. Ambos" on fol. 10v), made some years afterwards, as denounced by the different notational style and the absence of corrections on fol. 10v (the mensural black notation is not a second layer). The contents coincide with RM 11 (fully indexed in PEM) and RM 13.
