P-BRs RM 13
Antiphons, preces and introit chants for the Rogation Days of May (before Ascension Thursday), and Song of the Sibyl, fully notated, according to the Braga liturgical tradition. This repertoire, transmitted to Braga through Aquitanian channels, was shared by the Hispanic and Gallican rites before the adoption of Roman-Frankish chant.
Square notation (southern variety) on 5 red lines. Small custodes, left-headed. At page 10v the notation of the Kyrie and its verse, which was originally semi-mensural, was later melodically revised and changed into black mensural notation.
Initials can be black, red, blue, combine the three colours or use blue and red with very simple decoration. Rubrics in red.
No visible inscription.
Very good. The book has a purple velvet cover and is very well preserved; there are no missing pages.
Single column. 5 staves alternated with 5 lines of text.
13 folios + guard leaves. No visible numeration.
This is a duplicate of processional RM 11, which is fully indexed in PEM. Since RM 11 is dated (1685), the same date was assumed for the present volume.
