P-G (Guimarães) Arquivo Municipal Alfredo Pimenta N 060
Central bifolio containing two fragmentary offices. The chants found on fols. Arv-Br are usually sung for 'Octava Nat. Domini'; however, none of the sources currently indexed in PEM and, more widely, in Cantus Index share the same chants found in fragment P-G N 60 in the same liturgical order (although a closer similarity can be recognized with the office for the same feast in E-Tc 44.2). Moreover, it is worth noting that the Antiphon 'O admirabile' (Cantu ID 003985) displays an interesting feature. Instead of starting with 'O admirabile commercium'-as usually found in the other sources-it starts with 'O admirabile misterium'. The same word replacement is found only in the versions of this Antiphon in the manuscripts representative of the Braga use P-BRs MS 32, fol. 75v (Feast: Octava Nat. Domini); MS 28, fol. 281v (Feast: De BMV post Epiph.) and fol. 290v (Feast: Cant. Canticorum p.Ep.). The following liturgical feast (chants on fol. Brv) remains undetermined.
Fol. Ar, right of the page: '158?' written in black, illegible texts in pale ink underneath; between 2 columns and across text lines with notation, illegible texts and some numbers in pale ink. Fol. Br, left of the page and between 2 columns in the middle of page, illegible texts in pale ink.
Small-sized neumes placed around a red line. Custodes. The axis of the notation is slightly slanted (the square puncta look rather like parallelograms). The difference between a lozenge and a more or less square punctum is usually clearly defined. The lozenge is used consistently either in isolation or as part of compound neumes (ascending and descending patterns).
