Central bifolio containing two fragmentary offices. The chants found on fols. Arv-Br are usually sung for 'Octava Nat. Domini'; however, none of the sources currently indexed in PEM and, more widely, in Cantus Index share the same chants found in fragment P-G N 60 in the same liturgical order (although a closer similarity can be recognized with the office for the same feast in E-Tc 44.2). Moreover, it is worth noting that the Antiphon 'O admirabile' (Cantu ID 003985) displays an interesting feature. Instead of starting with 'O admirabile commercium'-as usually found in the other sources-it starts with 'O admirabile misterium'. The same word replacement is found only in the versions of this Antiphon in the manuscripts representative of the Braga use P-BRs MS 32, fol. 75v (Feast: Octava Nat. Domini); MS 28, fol. 281v (Feast: De BMV post Epiph.) and fol. 290v (Feast: Cant. Canticorum p.Ep.). The following liturgical feast (chants on fol. Brv) remains undetermined.
Description of the notation

Small-sized neumes placed around a red line. Custodes. The axis of the notation is slightly slanted (the square puncta look rather like parallelograms). The difference between a lozenge and a more or less square punctum is usually clearly defined. The lozenge is used consistently either in isolation or as part of compound neumes (ascending and descending patterns).

Decoration

Text and notation in black. Initials and rubrics in red.

Inscriptions
Fol. Ar, right of the page: '158?' written in black, illegible texts in pale ink underneath; between 2 columns and across text lines with notation, illegible texts and some numbers in pale ink. Fol. Br, left of the page and between 2 columns in the middle of page, illegible texts in pale ink.
Material
Condition of document

Fragment in poor conditions, it was used as book cover but now removed. Fols. Ar-Bv were the external cover. The fragment has been severely trimmed to fit the size of the book if covered. Fol. Ar: the page is nearly complete without any damage. A few pricking holes. The left of the page is particularly darkened, thus, the texts are hardly legible. The top right corner is slightly folded. Fol. Av: large part of the page is illegible due to some layers of paper (?) previously pasted here and now removed. The right of the page is notably darker than the left, with multiple creases, suggesting that this area originally covered the spine of the book. Fol. Br: the right edge is trimmed and damaged (with loss of contents). The top text line and the bottom of page are mostly illegible due to damping and the remenants of layers pasted here and now removed. Several creases are present towards the right of the page. Fol. Bv: part of the texts (top right corner and at the bottom) is illegible due to damping.

Page layout

Fol. Ar- 2 columns per page; left column: 27 text lines with no notation; right column: 6 text lines with notation, 17 with no notation. Fol. Av: 2 columns per page; left column: 4 legible text lines with no notation, followed by 9 with notation, and 5 with no notation; right column: 23 text lines with no notation, 3 with notation, 1 extra line of notation without text. Fol. Br: 2 columns per page; left column: 14 text lines with notation; right column: 12 text lines with notation, 4 with no notation. Fol. Bv: 2 columns per page; left column: 25 text lines with no notation; right column: 29 text lines with no notation.
